Joel Ramirez
Inspired by the haunting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, photographer Joel Ramirez seeks reminders that despite the prevalence of humankind, the natural world looms larger, and will survive us.
The photos in this collection, "distractions," were shot on 4x5 film, and developed in a home dark room. All images were captured in 2019–2020, throughout Washington and Oregon. They are giclee printed on archival paper.
Joel lives in Burien, WA. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the Brooks Institute of Photography, and is the Head of Photography for Seattle-based Ben Bridge Jewelers.
